German Turn 4

The situation in the north:

End of German's Turn 4

Thei situation in the south:

End of German's Turn 4

AAR

There is one artifact of the scenario which we noticed immediately. As a consequence of the five turn limit, the Allies seem to have more motivation to attack the Germans early on to attempt to deny the breakthrough. In more typical games, the Allies generally try to slow the German advance, rather than halt it completely.

In the north, this may have have succeeded more than in the south. There are more and better units close to the Meuse in the north.

Recommendations for next play

Rommel at Dinant

Adjust OOB as follows:

  • Two air
  • 3 GQG
  • reinforcement pull for Allies is the same, units entering in the South and Southeast simply don't appear in the scenario.

Victory conditions:

  • For Germans, an in-supply unit in hex column 35, where the supply line maintains a 3 hex width, north of hex row xx12 inclusive.
  • For the Allies, deny the German win.

The Crossing at Sedan

  • Three air.
  • 3 GQG
  • Allied reinforcements entering from the north will not appear.

Victory conditions:

  • For Germans, an in-supply unit in hex column 35, where the supply line maintains a 3 hex width, south of hex row xx13 inclusive.
  • For the Allies, deny the German win.

These victory conditions may be either too hard or too easy, it's hard to say with a single play.
