LotR 311 - The Fords of Isen (4)

This is my first solitaire play through of The Fords of Isen. Not having much confidence in being able to beat it out of the box, I decided to take it on using the tried and true Single Core Killer deck. This is such an excellent deck.
Because co-op play for The Antlered Crown used the same Deluxe box encounter cards, I decided to play without logging the game. As it turns out, the deck did really, really well and beat the quest in something like 9 rounds. I was surprised!
The difference I believe comes from how The Antlered Crown sets up the Raven deck, which is a second draw deck for enemies. While the enemies are too terrible, their effects are very much "death by a thousand cuts," which is hard to keep up with playing co-op with two enemy draw decks. In The Fords of Isen, it's just a single draw deck, and with the low starting threat of the deck, was able to build a small tableau before having to deal with any enemies. I was also lucky on the Encounter draw, getting several locations at the beginning of the game, and Northern Tracker, Henamarth, and Steward of Gondor in my starting hand. No need for any mulligans with that hand.
Anyway, I wish I had logged it, but I'm happy to have completed it. Now I'm of To Catch an Orc.
