LotR 90-92 -- Into the Pit (19-21)

Try a different deck for this one, the Khazad-dum P2 Tactics/Spirit deck. The Deeds of Dwarves tri-sphere deck just didn't work, it couldn't get past the first stage.

  3. Quest: Thalin and Dwalin, draw Stairs of Nain, net +0 P, but ok with that for this round. This is almost like having a free round with 1 Crumbling Ruin traded for a Blade of Gondolin.

  5. Encounter: none.
  6. Combat: none.
  7. Refresh: Threat 30.

  1. Resource: 6, draw Feint.
  2. Planning: Unexpected Courage on Gimli.
  3. Quest: All, draw Dark and Dreadful, net +2 P to place on East-Gate.

  3. Quest: All, draw Many Roads, no effect as there are no locations in the discard pile, surge Crumbling Ruin, but there are no characters left to exhaust, so I'm going to ignore this one. Net +2 P.

So far, this deck isn't doing any better than Deeds of Dwarves.

Round 9

  1. Resource: 8, draw Feint.
  2. Planning: Zigil Miner guess 2, draw Citadel Plate and A Test of Will. Fuck. Those were good cards.
  3. Quest: Gimli, Thalin, Dwalin, Westroad Traveler, draw Cave In, but no progress so surge Zigil Mineshaft. Cave Torch and draw Goblin Swordsman. Raise to 48 Threat to clear Zigil Mineshaft, Threat 50.

Location locked.

Into the Pit 20 (Game 91)

No going to log this one completely, but here's the initial hand and encounter:
