Ogre 35 - Two Nations, One War

Tags

AS had a hankering for some Ogre, so we played Two Nations One War scenario from Scenario Book 2, which is the winners from the Kickstarter scenario contest.

First Ogre in about 11 months for me.

The scenario is reasonably interesting, with an Ogre on each side, and a race to control towns for acquiring reinforcements. Combine units get a head start on reinforcements, but Pan Euro gets to move first, so it seems balanced enough.

My opponent didn't take advantage of his setup to get his first turn reinforcements, then wasn't able to move fast enough to build reinforcements on a timely basis.

What I did was grab a bunch of GEV-PC and toted my infantry around to town locations. Infantry occupation is required for counting reinforcement "control."

Here's the situation towards the beginning of the game:

Two Nations One War, Ogre 35

The situation looked increasingly worse for Combine as the reinforcement differential started to add up over the turns. Combine basically conceded once I put down a dozen Light GEVs 2/3 of the way to the Combine CP, with basically unopposed movement to get there.

Good game. I'd like to switch sides and see how I'd do as Combine.
