Finally won another game of Quoridor.
This one was against a relatively new player who is rated above me, but not that much.
This game I focused on getting fences down early, and it paid off. I won by a move as the opponent's last fence placement cost him a move. He had to place it though, else I would have won by 3 moves.
I noticed while I was playing that this opponent missed at least one fence which would have been catastrophic to me. As in I would have lost by 9 or 10 moves. I was able to fix that with the blocking fence at the bottom.
