Star Realms 31, 32

More Star Realms with JC, again at his place. He has a table which is just perfect for a Star Realms sized game, perhaps for Jump Drive or even Race for the Galaxy. We’ll have to play at my place for larger games like Leaving Earth or High Frontier. We had intended on looking over some Star Fleet Battles but the crew from SF arrived, and I needed to get checked in the hotel since the power will be off all day tomorrow at Dos Palmas.

In any case, he is still learning the game, so these chalk up as wins for me.

Game 31

This seemed to be a fairly usual game, with neither side developing a significant strategy. We ended up just chewing each other down, I just happened to chew faster. I ended up zeroing him out with 23 hits remaining. These “usual” games are memorably non-memorable.

Game 32

This was a wild game. I went deep on Federation, and ended up with 75 authority by the end of the game. I haven’t pulled that off for a long time. As usual with Federation strategy, games tend to go a little longer. For whatever reason, Federation cards came out early, and just kept coming out, so I snapped a few up right away. I’ve never had a 4 ally tableau before, and I had two or three this game. Trade Federation doesn’t scrap, but it has that “discard to draw” mechanic which is really powerful. I recall the last hand I drew four or five cards. I also had a recycling station out, which is just nuts when you use it correctly.
