Another Quoridor spank down.
This game, played on BGA, was one of the first games I started, it just took a while to play through. The opponent for the game is the highest ranked opponent I've played.
What's really interesting about this game is that the opponent placed the first fence, and placed in front of his pawn after taking three forward moves. I placed a fence directly behind his pawn then, which was probably stupid.
I moved my pawn before the opponent made another move, whence opponent placed another fence in front of my pawn.
The opponent continued to place fences, not moving the pawn, while I attempted to outrun those fences, and not placing enough of my own.
Once the opponent had placed 9 fences to my 6 fences, it was clear I had lost the game. From there it was pretty futile, but I played it out to see how the fences would interact.
One really interesting technique this opponent would employ was blocking his own retreat with fences, which constrained how I was able to place my fences. He did it at least twice.
Opponent won by 5 moves. That's a lot in this game.
